Summer Drama Camp

SUMMARY

Drama Camp is designed for boys and girls ages 5-18 to experience performing in our Center Stage theater beautifully nestled in the foothills. Located only 30 minutes from downtown Denver! Our campers join us from throughout the front range and Denver Metro areas and travel from as far as Burlington and Steamboat Springs!

Age 5-7:

-The Rainbow Fish
July 8-12 or July 22-26
Bring your favorite stories to life with our storybook theater sessions for ages 5-7. This year we'll be bringing the beloved tale of "The Rainbow Fish" to the stage! This fun-filled session includes lots of theater games, colorful costumes, fun make up, lights, props, sets and all the fun things that come with putting on a show!

Age 8-11:

-Acting Out: Show TBA!
July 8-12 or July 15-19
Students in the Acting Out session put together a short production in just one week! From reading a script, auditioning, rehearsals, costumes, props, sets and a final performance this week is packed with fun and excitement!

-Pan!
July 15-26
Bring the classic tale of Peter Pan to life in this kid-friendly adaptation! With all your favorite characters including Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinkerbell and more! Students in this session will put on a full production in the span of two weeks that will include everything from auditions to rehearsals and a final performance onstage with lights, sound, costumes, props and more! In this brand new session students will learn what it's like to act on camera, how to put together a headshot and resume, how to audition and act for commercials and so much more! Taught by returning drama camp instructor Chuck Novatka this is a great opportunity for students who are interested in film and television acting!

-Selections from 'The Greatest Showman'
July 8-19
Bring songs from "The Greatest Showman" to life onstage this summer! Students will spend two weeks learning music, choreography and staging for their final performance at the end of the session. With hits from the movie like "Rewrite the Stars", "Come Alive" and more this session will be both fun and challenging for budding performers.

July 22-26
Improvisational fun! In this session students will learn everything from the basic rules of improv to more advanced techniques. With a structure based around games and play, this session focuses on teamwork, listening to each other and thinking creatively on your feet!

-Tech Theater
July 15-19 or July 22-26
Learn the behind the scenes of theater! Featuring guest instructors who will teach lighting design, sound design, set design and more this is the perfect session for kids interested in how to put on a show from the behind the scenes standpoint. Students will assist with the productions being put on for the acting camps and coordinate tech with the directors of those shows and get to showcase what they learned at the end of the week!
