Something's Afoot
A musical mystery by James McDonald, David Vos and Robert Gerlach, with additional music by Ed Linderman.
Directed by Nita Froelich. Music directed by Don Wagner.
"Something's Afoot" spoofs one of Agatha Christie best known novels, "Ten Little Indians." On the invitation of a mysterious host, 10 guests arrive at a remote English country house in the midst of a thunderstorm and start dropping like flies. All the usual suspects are on hand, including the butler, and of course each of the guests has a motive. Before you know it, questionable alibis are as rife as the bodies piling up in the library. But led by the redoubtable Miss Tweed, the dwindling survivors figure out "whodunit" while bursting into song. It's all grand silliness. Between the zany twists and turns of the plot and a host of madcap special effects, "Something's Afoot" will keep the audience on its toes from the opening scene right through the denouement.
