Summer Drama Camp


Drama Camp is designed for boys and girls ages 5-18 to experience performing in our Center Stage theater beautifully nestled in the foothills. Located only 30 minutes from downtown Denver! Our campers join us from throughout the front range and Denver Metro areas and travel from as far as Burlington and Steamboat Springs!

Stage Combat
July 6-13, 9am-12pm (HALF DAY!)*
Learn the art of falling, fighting and fainting in this fun-filled class. Students will learn how to safely use stage combat techniques onstage.

Audition Technique
July 6-13, 12:30pm-3:30pm (HALF DAY!)*
Learn how to make the most of your auditions! With an emphasis on how to prepare a monologue or song as well as practicing cold-reading skills and more, this class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn a little bit more about how to give a great audition!

This listing is for those who want to do a full day of classes during July 6-13 and will attend both the stage combat session in the morning as well as the audition technique class in the afternoon.

Age 5-7:
Storybook Theater: Giraffes Can't Dance
Bring your favorite stories to life with our storybook theater sessions for ages 5-7. This year we'll be bringing the book "Giraffes Can't Dance" to the stage! This fun-filled session includes lots of theater games, colorful costumes, fun make up, lights, props, sets and all the fun things that come with putting on a show!

Age 8-11

The Jedi Doth Return: Students in this session put together a short production in just one week! From reading a script, auditioning, rehearsals, costumes, props, sets and a final performance this week is packed with fun and excitement! Join us as we bring Star War Shakespeare back to the stage with part three "The Jedi Doth Return"! We had so much fun bringing these classic stories to life the last two years - join us again this year for even more fun.

The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Two Week Play): Students in this session will put on a full production in the span of two weeks that will include everything from auditions to rehearsals and a final performance onstage with lights, sound, costumes, props and more! Sign up now as this class fills up fast! Two narrators attempt to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza. To make it more difficult, they attempt to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and others.

Age 12-18

Musical Theater Intensive: Mean Girls
Bring songs from the Broadway hit "Mean Girls" to life onstage this summer! Students will spend two weeks learning music, choreography and staging for their final performance at the end of the session. This session will be both fun and challenging for budding performers.

Improv: Improvisational fun! In this session students will learn everything from the basic rules of improv to more advanced techniques. With a structure based around games and play, this session focuses on teamwork, listening to each other and thinking creatively on your feet!

Tech Theater
Age 11-18

Advanced: In our new advanced tech track, students will assist during tech week of the Players' summer production and have the opportunity to assist during the productions as well if they choose. Center Stage

Beginner/Intermediate: Learn the behind the scenes of theater! Featuring guest instructors who will teach lighting design, sound design, set design and more this is the perfect session for kids interested in how to put on a show from the behind the scenes standpoint. Students will assist with the productions being put on for the acting camps and coordinate tech with the directors of those shows and get to showcase what they learned at the end of the week!
