Add in mistaken identities, romantic entanglement, and a feisty mother-in-law, and you've got one hilarious comedy! Directed by Bernie Cardell and starring Len Matheo as George Hay, Carol Gartner as Charlotte Hay, Haley Johnson as Roz, Matt Bachus as Paul, Patrick Collins as Howard, Jessica Clare as Eileen, Scott Gibson as Richard, and Kathleen Davis as Ethel. Evergreen Players is happy to announce our holiday double feature of Gift of the Magi and Gift of Fools. The Gift of the Magi is a short Christmas comedy adapted by Jon Jory from the classic holiday story by O. Henry. This heartwarming romantic comedy, narrated by a group of Christmas carolers, tells the story of Della and Jim, who are desperately in love but very poor. In their attempts to buy each other proper Christmas gifts, a strange twist of fate teaches them the importance of the gift of love. Gift of Fools is an unfinished O. Henry story reimagined and completed by local playwrights Scott Gibson, Kathleen Davis, and Marilyn Herrs. Gift of Fools is a humorous tale of five memorable characters on a snowy Christmas eve in the early 1900’s. But who is the fool? It’s up to you to decide. A charming story with an “O. Henry” twist.

ON SALE SOON: Festival of One-Act Plays

Celebrating new playwrights from all over the country, this festival will be a collection of original, new works. One-Act plays were submitted by playwrights from around the country and seven were chosen by a committee. The seven one-act plays will range from comedy to drama and will be performed in the Evergreen Players Black Box Theatre and will run weekends Jan 19-28th.
